It’s that magical time of year again when we all prepare for the Winter release! Here are some highlights…

Flow & Process Automation Highlights

#1: Before Delete Flows

Who needs to learn to code when you can do before delete triggers with flow? Salesforce is slowly making it possible for Admins to be all powerful without learning to code. Now you can have your flow run upon deletion and address those pesky residual records that were previously just sitting there orphaned.

#2: Custom Properties in Flow Builder

If you’ve never experienced the joy that is components from UnofficialSF, you probably aren’t as excited by this as I am. Basically, developers can tweak lightning components to make them much easier for an Admin to update the various properties of the component.

There are a few enhancements on this, so you should look at the Lightning Flow Extensions section of the release notes.

Everything Else I think is Awesome

#3: Dynamic Forms GA

I mentioned this in my last Release Highlights post, but it is exciting that Dynamic Forms are now Generally Available. No more using the Page Layout editor – you can customize fields directly in the Lightning App Builder. The downside to this – Dynamic Forms are still only supported for custom objects.

#4: Choose when to show Submit for Approval Button

I can’t believe it’s taken this long for this to happen – but you can now only show the Submit for Approval button when the record is actually eligible for approval! A small but mighty enhancement for admins the world over.

#5: Find changed Opportunities

I’ll be honest, I had no idea this one was on the roadmap – but I’m sure Sales Managers everywhere are happy to hear they can quickly see when an opportunity changes. This update adds notifications when an opportunity’s amount or close date changes. It does look like you’ll need to toggle this magic on in your org (Opportunity Settings > Manage Settings to Show Deals That Changed in the Last Week)
